Looking at effective leadership demands critical assessment, reflection, and discussion on how leadership development interventions lead to better societal outcomes. It is in this context that the "Leadership Development for Social Change: Building a Community of Practice" Conference was initiated.
In this event, participants had the opportunity to reflect on their leadership development interventions and engage in dialogue with other practitioners in the field to explore various leadership development approaches and practices, issues faced, and questions arising from their work. With participants coming from the government, NGOs, the youth sector, and the corporate sector, it served as the catalyst for a Community of Practice that extends the dialogue on leadership to a research agenda. The conference was held at the AIM campus on July 27-28, 2010.
Partners for this initiative include the Ateneo de Manila University Development Studies Program, the Ateneo School of Government, Ayala Foundation, Galing Pook Foundation, La Salle Institute of Governance and the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance.
