Approach and Method
The program aims not just to target the youth as beneficiaries of development initiatives but to prepare them as partners, engage them for collaborative interventions and open up space for youth-led decision making more importantly. It is premised primarily on the youth having agency and the capacity to make themselves heard, act in their best interest and impact their own lives and others’. To achieve this, the program will be implemented using a multi-modal approach with emphasis on experiential learning which is most appropriate to the participants’ relational level of understanding and learning. It will also serve as a learning laboratory that will help participants how to make sense of the challenges and locate their own place in the solution, individually and collectively. To further maximize this experience, the group will be comprised of multi-stakeholder participants representing sectors such as the academe, Local Government Unit (LGU), Indigenous People (IP), youth volunteers, etc.
