Partnering for Mindanao: The AIM-Xavier University MOA Signing
Thursday morning, September 8, 2011, AIM’s TeaM Energy Center for Bridging Leadership (AIMTEC) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Xavier University (XU) as part of the institutional capacity building component of the Mindanao Bridging Leaders Program (MBLP) – a program funded under the State- and Peace-Building Fund supported by the World Bank.
Gracing the event and signing the MOA for both institutions were AIM President Edilberto de Jesus; XU President Fr. Roberto C. Yap, S.J.; AIMTEC Executive Director Nieves R. Confesor; and Dean of XU’s College of Agriculture, Mr. Roel Ravanera. Witnessing the event were AIM Dean Ricardo A. Lim and MBLP Manager, Miren Facultad.
The MOA marks a milestone in the partnerships of the Center across academic institutions in Mindanao. XU is one of six partner institutions of the Center for the MBLP envisioned to help mainstream bridging leadership in the academic community as well as in key leadership and governance programs of the region. XU is presently helping support four fellow-scholars under the first cohort of the MBLP through technical advice, facility support, process coaching and program implementation.
The MBLP is aimed at creating cadres of bridging leaders towards effectively responding to key societal divides in Mindanao towards peace-building and development.
